UGAGB Spring Cup - Kilworth Springs GC, Lutterworth - Sunday 19 May

Our arrival at Kilworth Springs was greeted with glorious spring sunshine, revealing the course in all its verdant splendour. Indeed, the rough was so lush that it adversely affected many of our scores, leading to a generally low scoring round.

The course was in beautiful condition, but narrow fairways and fast greens made it very testing, with only one birdie recorded – Mick Lobaz scooping the pool.

Only two of the minor prizes were claimed, with Ambroz Doczyminskyi getting Nearest Pin on hole 11 and Jon Iwanejko claiming the Longest Drive

Divisional winners were:

Division One:

1st Place: Scott Frearson 31 points

2nd Place: Mick Gillies 27 points

3rd Place: Mick Melnyk 25 points.

Division Two:

1st Place: Jon Iwanejko 33 points

2nd Place: Iwan Kudiarskyj 32 points

3rd place: Shaun Stramkowski 31 points

So, Big Jon claimed the Spring Cup, a welcome return to winning ways. Also great to see Ambroz finally win a prize and Mick Lobaz recoup most of his outlay on the birdie pool over the last few years.

Our next event is on 23 June at Retford GC, a course UGAGB has not played, and we look forward to seeing you all there.
